According to national statistics figures show, 526,446 new businesses were registered with Companies House last year, beating 484,224 recorded in 2012, and 440,600 in 2011.
The top performer according to postcode was Greater London with 136,939 new companies. The nearest rival was Birmingham at 16,281 and Manchester at 11,765.
Regional statistics reveal a power house in the South East and London, as expected, but there were also impressive pockets of entrepreneurial activity in the North West, South Yorkshire, the Midlands and Scotland.”
