Aimed at companies with aspirations to trade overseas, the event proved an excellent opportunity for CCICM to explain its international services to UK-based exporters.
Of particular interest to many SMBs and larger corporations considering, or already, exporting globally, was CCICM’s ability to ensure their financial protection all over the world.
Ian Spindley, CCICM Marketing and Communications Manager, who attended the two-day event with colleagues Tom Dutton and Hannah Barratt, said: “We are completely unique in the UK market because we offer UK levels of compliance and customer care in over 130 countries.
“Our clients can trade globally, safe in the knowledge that if an individual or business fails to pay when they should, we are immediately there to help. The obvious benefit to our clients is that they can offer credit terms in territories where, previously, they may have been more risk-averse. It provides them with a competitive edge, boosts their sales, and opens up new markets.”
Carl Hackman, Director of CCICM and acknowledged expert on international credit, was invited as a guest speaker. He gave a seminar on how businesses can best protect themselves when trading overseas.
Called ‘Extending Credit – Trade With Confidence’, it featured a three-step guide on how to ensure potential clients maximise their sales and minimise the risks.
Carl said: “This is obviously interesting to UK business with global ambitions. We all know that extending credit can increase sales by between 30-40%, while increasing the size of orders and doubling order frequency. But that has risks!
“These future exporters need to know they can have someone out there with them. Having the right partner working alongside them in overseas territories minimises the risks associated with extending credit. That is why CCICM – which also established and runs the International Credit Exchange network of carefully-selected overseas collection agents – is used by household-name multinationals, banks, utilities, and even governments,” Carl added.
To add a little fun and interest to the show, CCICM ran a prize-draw at our new-look stand, to win either a mini IPad or FitBit. We are delighted to announce the winners were pharmaceutical research company EuroSun Science Ltd, and property firm Landlord Express Ltd.
